About my website:
I made Spot-Aid to make everyone's hospital stay easier. I have been in and out of hospitals for my whole life, and being a kid made it even more challenging. So, I thought that I might as well turn all of those stays into something positive for everyone else. In this website, I have put all of my insider tips into one spot to make your stay easier. Everything you need to know that isn't in the normal hospital information packet, you will find here. If you have any questions, feel free to email me via the Contact Me tab. |
Watch the youtube video below to see one of my stays in the hospital. It is from the Mayo Clinic and it gives a lot of helpful tips for the hospital. It also might help if you see a video about a hospital stay.

Most important things:
1) Always, listen to what your doctors say. They're pros at this and know what they are doing. Everything they say is for your health, so listen and follow what they say no matter what. 2) Always listen to your body. This is hard at first but over time it becomes second nature. To listen to my body, I just compare how I feel to when I know I am healthy. If something even feels a little bit off, I tell my parents and doctors. I know you might be scared and think you are overreacting, but you are probably not. Trust me, if you feel like something is off, then something is off and you need to get it looked at. 3) No matter what kind of operation that you had, you can always return to the way you felt and looked before the surgery. Just because you had an operation does not mean you should give up. The key to bouncing back is support. After surgery you can't just shut your loved ones out -- you have to do the complete opposite. Lean on your family or friends for help in any way that you can. Remember to take little steps and work with your doctors. Having an operation is hard but you can't give up--just keep working hard and you will return back to your normal self. |
